Spring Clean Your Studio Blog Hop 2017

Image
I love doing these spring clean your studio blog-hops because they force me to organize a little at least once a year. This year's clean up has been very hard. I have not felt very motivated. I've had one child moving out and another child moving in over the past month and their stuff has been all over the house.  This weekend I decided I had to do something about the messes everywhere.  I honestly should have videoed my entire house before and after I cleaned and moved furniture and used that as my post!  Hubby was out doing the yard work while I cleaned.  The girls were gone and I was very happy about that.  It is so much easier sometimes to just do things all by myself. Hubby did, however, help out in the afternoon and I was grateful for his help with the heavy stuff!  So, after all that work, I was exhausted and exhilarated! It felt great to have everything back in order.   Then today, I came in to the studio.   Oh MY! My ever faith...

Dirty Little Secrets

I'm about to share an embarrassing secret with you. Perhaps you have this secret as well. My studio regularly turns into a disaster area. I like to blame a mischievous cat who knocks things around as well as a creative daughter who manages to avoid me when I ask her to put things away but to be honest - it is mostly my fault. I have been sewing and painting like crazy since before Christmas and have straighten up once in a while but it just wasn't enough.  Last week I had finally had enough! I mean, just look at this disaster: A- Started to put up cork board squares and didn't finish B - Mischievous Cat making himself at home among the mess C - Daughters missing water bottle - oops I guess I stole it D - Boxes of stuff from classes I taught last Oct. that need to be put away E - Bags and Bags of projects needing attention Keiko is scared to enter the room because it is so messy. What a disaster! I just couldn't hide from the mess...

Books that should not be out when your house is messy. . .

And come to think of it - these books should NEVER be left lying about or else someone might think you have actually read them and that you KNOW how to clean house! Sheesh.
