London

Image
*I am attempting to catch up on my blog this month by posting everyday.  I will be back dating the posts, but they will be done at least once a day through the month of December.  Took a great trip to London with my husband and oldest daughter. I found a lot of great inspiration while there.  There is art everywhere. . . . . .even in the mundane. . .   . . . Above. . . And below. . . Below. . .  And yes, I did visit some amazing and famous art at a few museums, attended a few fantastic Musicals, ate lots of great food, and saw great sights. It was a wonderful trip, and I look forward to seeing London again in the future.

Artistic Inspiration

Image
The beginning of a new year always makes me ponder things. Today I am pondering inspiration. Where does your artistic inspiration come from? Is it real life. . . perhaps a color, a shape, a scene? Is your inspiration pulled from your own imagination? Maybe it is a combination of the two? What inspires you most?

Spring Challenge

Image
Last week was a beautiful spring break at our house.   The weather was fabulous but . . . Two words: stomach flu.   Do I need to say that we didn't get much crossed off the to-do list??? I was able to get some cleaning and a little sewing done.  Mister supervised the cleaning of the studio of course. My daughter decided the Bird Wings needed a home until we find the perfect backpack. They make an interesting bra don't they! Hahaha I started this project when I was at Pie Plates Retreat. I really like where it is going. I need to dye more of the turquoise leaf fabric because I would like this piece to be much bigger.  I created the fabric using a foam stamp with Color Magnet and diluted turquoise procian dye.  The purple is left over from my Printed Fabric Bee Science piece .  I just love these colors together.  When I started the project, my friend, Sylvia , threw a piece of plain peach fabric at me and challenged m...

Sunday Inspiration

Image
I have two exchange students from Germany staying with my family for two weeks so we took advantage and headed down to Moab for the weekend.  I have really enjoyed seeing the park again through their eyes.  Here are just a few photos of the beauty to inspire you this lovely Sunday: The hike to Delicate Arch is very difficult, especially when you are overweight and out of shape, but I'm glad to say I'm lighter than I was 6 months ago and in better shape, making this trek possible! It was a great accomplishment!

Yellowstone Inspiration

Image
We decided to visit Yellowstone for the first time and found that summer has not arrived in this part of Montana yet!  However the cool weather and snow didn't stop the animals from making an appearance.  There were a lot of baby bison roaming around the park and each one was adorable.  I always thought that geese nested on the ground.   I'm wondering why this goose is on a nest up in a tree.     There were a couple of geese flying around this nest. Could they be babysitting for an Eagle? ;) Canadian Geese have white geese who help them tend their goslings - true story - so why not?  Something to ponder. (I've seen these white geese helping the Canadian geese at Wheeler Farm in Utah)  The cloudiness of the day just added something extra to the beauty of the park.   This momma elk and her baby swam across the river.   It was amazing to see the baby swimming and how concerned Momma was about he...
