Dinos Pizza

Image
One of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco is Dino's Pizza on the corner of California and Filmore.  It is now a tradition that we eat here at least once everytime we go to SF because their pizza is so fabulous. It is also a tradition that we take a picture of the pizza we are about to eat and send it to the family member who wasn't lucky enough to go.  We are so nice! My mouth just waters thinking about their thin handtossed perfect pizza. And the pepperoni and the Italian sausage are so GOOD! Fresh tasting and perfectly spiced.  Yuuuuummmm. See - it even puts a smile on Gus' face! You can tell they are trying hard not to smile because they don't like to admit that Mom is always right. Dino's is definately a place we can all agree upon!

Fenton's Ice Creamery

Image
We were delighted when my sister's girlfriend offered us accomodations in her wonderful condo in Oakland while we were in town.  One of the many perks was being within walking distance of this famous ice creamery: You may have heard about it in a little movie called "Up" They make the ice cream on site and it is fabulous! Especially the Cream Caramel Almond Crunch.

Chabot Space & Science Center

Image
We made a short and very interesting visit to the Chabot Space and Science Center while we were in the San Francisco area. They had telescopes out so that you could look at the sun and see sun flares. As well as little shields to look at the sun through This is what we saw through the shield The volunteers were trying to position the big telescope on Venus but were having a hard time finding it's location. So we read all the interesting posters and made funny pictures. . . Em ate the volunteer and then went to live on the sun with her sisters and Aunt. Funny - they don't look like they are burning up. Oh - Em must have conjured something up using the phases of the moon. Haha All in all it was a very interesting visit. We need to return sometime soon!

Winner

Image
Ding, Ding, Ding!  We have a winner!  Sister Babcock guessed San Francisco correctly.  Too bad there isn't a prize. We weren't there very long but we did our best to pack in a few activities. We went to the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market at the Ferry building. Where the girls found this woman and fell in love with her braclets. She custom made a few for them and their friends. She was very fast and it was facinating to watch her work. I wish I had taken photos of the food stalls but there were so many people there and I was busy searching for fruit to have in our cobbler the next day.  We tasted some fabulous peaches and strawberries. Our view from the parking lot was fabulous so we had to take some pictures. And while we were looking out we saw a group of people running with backpacks and the girls were certain they were Amazing Race Contestants! We will see if they go through San Francisco next season. In the meantime I have some beautiful models o...

Some Hints

Where in the world was I?

Image
I've been gone for a bit and sadly I didn't have the internet access I thought I would so i wasn't able to blog about my trip while I was there.  Now I'm behind and it's late and I really need to sleep in my own bed.  So as a teaser . . . can you guess where I was from this photo?  And it's not fair guessing if I already told you where I was headed.  I hope to be back soon with more photos and stories.

May Blossoms

Image
Finished up these two cutes today to take to work.   My friend and co-worker, Sandy, knit the adorable hat and pocket and I made the dolly's.  This picture just doesn't do the hat justice.  It has these very cute little balls on each corner.  They are from two patterns made by May Blossom .  The one with the cute hat is from the "Humbug Macaroons" pattern and the one in the pocket is from the "Pocket Petunias" pattern.
