Wee proud of you
My husband's mother always writes "Wee proud of you" on all her cards, and our family laughs about it in a loving way. We love this phrase because it tells so much about his mother and how far the family has come.
His mother was born on a small Caribbean island but spent her childhood living with distant relatives in southern China. She lived there just at the end of the second world war and witnessed terrible atrocities. Ten years later when she returned to her parents she didn't speak English.
Congratulations to us all.

Now here she is about 50 years later watching her first grandchild receive his first college degree, and the phrase "Wee proud of you" has more meaning than ever.
Congratulations to us all.
